Tabletop Games: Currently, popular tabletop games have been integrated into mobile apps and new ones are arriving almost every week. Adaptation of board games into mobile phones and tablets have gained a lot of popularity. It also provides the flexibility to play any tabletop game at any place. For the past 12 months, the spending of players on tabletop games has approximately increased by 40% and amounts to a whopping $ 703.8 million.
The Tabletop genre is one of the fastest growing gaming genres in the mobile community with thousands of new downloads every hour. The best tabletop game in the U.S. in terms of player spending has been the Solitaire Grand Harvest by Supertreat which generated over $ 115 million revenue last year. The total player spending in the tabletop genre has increased from $ 502.4 million to around $ 703.8 million, which is almost a 40% increase from the previous year.
Though player spending on tabletop games has increased significantly, when it comes to the number of downloads, it tells a different story. In the previous year, the total number of tabletop game downloads in the U.S. was over 230 million. After that, the download rate gradually decreased this year and the total number of downloads came down to 203 million, which is almost 12% less than the previous year. HappyColor from X-Flow was downloaded the most with around 8.3 million downloads which is closely followed by the card game UNO from Mattel and Chess from Chess.com. The Solitaire subgenre became the most downloaded game subgenre this year with over 76.8 million downloads.
