NA VALORANT LCQ: Shroud believes he is not a mentor for the Sentinels VALORANT team
When Sentinels dropped the announcement that it was adding Shroud to its VALORANT roster, the entire esports community went berserk. Fans and streamers alike were reacting to the news, since Shroud was making a comeback into professional eSports after five years. Naturally, fans were quite disappointed when Sentinels lost the match against The Guard due to a lack of coordination within the team. However, the team seemed to be in better shape in its match against Shopify Rebellion, and won a clean sweep 2-0 victory against the team, with Shroud and Zellsis playing key roles in the victory.

In the post match interview, Shroud was asked a bunch of questions about pre-match jitters. However, owing to his age difference with most of the team, Shroud was also asked about whethe rhe felt like he was a mentor to the rest of the team. Shroud actively denied these claims, saying that he was in no position to feel like a mentor to the team, since he had no prior professional experience with VALORANT.
“I’m coming into VALORANT with zero professional experience, so I don’t really have much say in what’s right and what’s wrong, besides, like, the fundamentals like how to trade, but everybody knows how to do that.”
Shroud believes that with the right amount of practice, the Sentinels VALORANT roster could be “dangerous”
After Sentinels’ insane victory against Shopify Rebellion earlier today, Shroud was asked his views about the strength of the current Sentinels VALORANT roster. Speaking about the same, Shroud revealed that the energy and dedication that the team had shown with a mere month’s practice was mind-blowing. He went on to state that he was sure that with more practice, the Sentinels VALORANT roster could truly be dangerous in future tournaments.
“We got a lot of practice in, sure, but in the grand scheme of things, how much is two to four weeks? It’s really not that much. If this is a roster that was staying together, I think it’d be dangerous. Because just the small stuff that we mamaged to do here in these two to four weeks, in my opinion, is insane.”
