Droupadi Murmu, President of India, issued a release, announcing eSports as the part of multi-sports events. The release mentioned, under the heading “MINISTRY OF YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS (YUVAK KARYAKRAM AUR KHEL MANTRALAYA)”, under the sub-heading “B. DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS (KHEL VIBHAG)”, after entry 2, the following entry shall be inserted, namely:-
“2A. e-Sports as part of multi-sports events.”.
eSports will receive a further boost in 2023 with its potential to have more jobs, and careers and as well as superstars. With the government acknowledging the potential of eSports, young enthusiasts can start following their passion by becoming pro on their favorite circuit.
