GOI and Garena Free Fire Ban in India

The Government of India has been taking strong actions against Chinese applications since early 2020. In February 2022, GOI finally decided to ban Free Fire from all platforms citing security concerns, while the max version of the game continued to be available. In the last few days, the rumor of Free Fire MAX Ban intensified after BGMI’s removal from all platforms.

However, many reports suggest that the MAX version of the game is completely owned by the Singaporean company as there are no direct links between Tencent and Garena. Hence, Free Fire MAX has very less chance to be banned, as of now. Meanwhile, Garena is unable to host regional tournaments in India due to iban (14 February 2022), which led to several concerns. Free Fire MAX users are currently enjoying the Light Fest of the game featuring loads of rewards. So, as of now, fans can continue exploring the game and enjoy what is in store for them.

Possibility of it’s return

Talking about the possibility of the original versions’ return, it seems very difficult as the original version still has a direct contact with Chinese companies. It remains to be see how things pan out in the near future. For future updates on Garena Free Fire and Free Fire Max, follow InsideSport.IN
