Fortnite Imposters mode: Fortnite just launched a new game mode this week, known as the “Imposters” mode. Fortnite Imposter mode will allow a maximum of 10 players, which will include two imposters and eight agents. The Agents need to keep the Bridge safe by completing assignments like delivering Storm reports for Analysis, repairing the Battle Bus, and calibrating llamas and chests. Agents have to quickly complete these tasks before the imposters eliminate the agents or undo their work. Though Epic Games didn’t collaborate with Innersloth, the game mode totally resembles the popular indie-hit Among Us.

Epic Games has again shown some lack of creativity to their title and ended up blatantly copying most of the things from Among Us. The gameplay and maps are also very similar between them and Among Us developers are not much happy about the event. Innersloth community director, Victoria Tran tweeted, “It would’ve been really, really cool to collab. Like game mechanics, fine, those shouldn’t be gate kept, but at the very least even different themes or terminology makes things more interesting?

A programmer in Innersloth, Gary Porter tweeted, “It’s okay tho they flipped electrical and medbay and connected security to the cafeteria.” And mentioned strong similarities between the maps of Among Us and Fortnite’s new Imposter mode. Co-founder of Innersloth, Marcus Bromander stated that they didn’t patent Among Us as that doesn’t lead to a healthy game industry and expected Epic games to put more effort on this new Imposter mode to create something of their own.

This is not the first time that Epic games faced criticism for copying others. Earlier, lawsuits were filed against Epic games by Alfonso Ribeiro and “Backpack kid” in the accusation of copyright infringement which was dropped later on. Fortnite’s success was also mainly influenced by PUBG’s rise in the battle-royale genre.
