YOU, YOUR FRIENDS, AND NEW ONES
Fortnite reveals Dwyane Johnson as the FoundationSome players may notice more robust player profiles! In the new Sidebar — currently in testing — click on a friend’s profile to see the playlist they’re currently in, their server region, selected language, Passes (whether they’re a Fortnite Crew member and whether they own the Battle Pass), and your mutual friends. The Sidebar will be incrementally rolled out to all Battle Royale/Creative players at a rate depending on the test. (Jump to info on privacy settings.)
Looking to add new friends? In the Sidebar, like the “Social” menu before it, you can see a list of suggested friends (friends of your friends), players you recently played with, or players from your search input. Also like the previous “Social” menu, the Sidebar is accessible from the top-left of the screen. The main menu (where “Settings” and more options can be found) is now selectable from the Sidebar.
When viewing the profile of someone who isn’t a friend yet, you can see if they’re in your party or team, their server region, and their selected language. If they’re a “suggested friend,” a result of your search input, or someone who sent you a friend request, you’ll see your mutual friends (if any). If they’re a player with whom you “recently played,” you’ll see your last interaction. For example: “Played Trios together 6 days ago.”
You can adjust who can see your profile information. Edit your profile to individually select “Private,” “Friends Only,” or “Public” visibility for your server region, selected language, and mutual friends. Passes can only be toggled to “Private” or “Friends Only” visibility.
