Fortnite Competitive: Pro gamer Benjyfishy announces retirement– Epic Games released Fortnite back in 2017. Ever since, the Battle Royale title has enjoyed the success of emerging as one of the most popular titles in the world. The community has grown daily, and several professionals have also been an integral part of it. However, from time to time these pros have parted ways with the game and quit Fortnite to pursue some other titles. Benjyfishy is one of the most well-known names in the Fortnite Competitive sector. The gamer recently took to social media to share his decision with his fans and followers. Although the news came as a surprise, everyone seems to have supported the decision and extended their wishes for his future ventures.

Fortnite Competitive: Benjyfishy will pursue Valorant from now on

“I’m officially quitting competitive Fortnite to pursue Valorant. “

The UK-based gamer kept his message short. Through the video, he clarified his reasons for quitting Fortnite and also let everyone know about his plans ahead.

Benjyfishy started playing Fortnite as he wanted to be a professional gamer. The challenges that come with it enticed him greatly, as he wanted something more than a 9-5 job. However, having spent four years in the competitive sector, he revealed that he has fallen out of love with Fortnite.

 

The gamer confesses that earlier, he used to play for around 8-10 hours a day. However, from last season, he only kept engaging during the tournaments. His lack of interest in Fortnite’s competitive sector compelled him to arrive at his decision to quit.

Benjyfishy revealed that of late, he has been enjoying Valorant. He even claimed that the last time he enjoyed something so intensely was during Fortnite’s World Cup back in 2019. It is quite clear that having retired from Fortnite, the NRG-based gamer will concentrate more on Valorant.

Benjyfishy’s retirement announcement was quite out of the blue. Members of the community anticipated that he might even cut ties with his organization. However, Benjyfishy has revealed that he is extremely grateful to NRG and he is staying on the team. Instead of doing Fortnite-based content, NRG and Benjyfishy will work together for Valorant-based content.

Benjyfishy took the opportunity to thank many people within the community

“[To Savage] Literally made my career and without him I’d be nowhere close to where I am at right now. [He is] the best player I have ever played with and I’ve made so many memories with him, from qualifying to World Cup to winning dreamhack. Genuinely going to be a friend for life”
The gamer took the opportunity to thank some of the individuals who have been an integral part of his journey. He shared his appreciation for Savage, Goofy, Rockit, and several others.

 

The official social media channel of Fortnite Competitive extended their gratitude towards Benjyfishy. His contribution to the game and its promotion was remarkable and it certainly did not go unnoticed.

 

Ever since Benjyfishy revealed the news, love and admiration poured in from every direction. Fans and followers and fellow gamers have also sent their good thoughts and congratulated him on his journey.

The gamer has also acknowledged their appreciation and thanked them wholeheartedly.
