FIFA 22 vs eFootball: FIFA by EA Sports and Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) by Konami are the two major and most popular football games of all time. Previously, Konami announced that they will end the PES series and will introduce a new football game known as eFootball. The game was eventually released on September 30, 2021. The rivalry between the two football games, FIFA and PES had been head to head till EA introduced the concept of FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), which turned out to be a game changer for FIFA. Konami was not able to meet the sales standards as FIFA and PES also lagged with some gameplay issues. FIFA 22 – GameplayFIFA 22 was released on October 1, 2021, Players who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition got early access to FIFA 22 on September 27, 2021. The HyperMotion Technology has been a major advancement for FIFA 22. EA included over 4000 new animations that raise the physicality, responsiveness and intensity of players. The goalkeeper has been completely rebuilt from scratch and offers more realistic positioning and whole new animations which define the personality of top keepers. Players can now see the emotion of top level footballers trying to talk, point and give directions on the pitch.
eFootball – GameplayAfter eFootball was released, Konami claimed to come up with a lot of advancements in the gameplay and graphical animations as well. Konami also showcased that they had used state of the art Xsens suits to gather motion capturing data and focused on improving one-on-one duels and realistic player movements. Although eFootball was built with a customized Unreal Engine 4 to revamp the animations and game controls, the game turned out to be a complete mess. It is a free-to-play game and is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Series One, PS5, PS4 and PC. Players are advised to maintain safe distance from the game until Konami tries to improve the game significantly. Currently, eFootball doesn’t stand any chance to compete with FIFA 22. The game is also considered by many as one of Konami’s worst games.
