Stalwart Esports disqualified from BGIS 2023 The Grind following the Ringing (as per rules). This decision comes after allegations of hacking in the week 2 Group 11 Sanhok match. Krafton will announce the replacement team soon.
The team was found guilty of violating fair play. Under the rules of 2.1.5 (Single Team Exclusivity) and 6.2.4 (Ringing) of the BGIS, In accordance with 6.4.2, Team Stalwart Esports has been disqualified from BGIS 2023 The Grind.
Krafton announced the disqualification in a social media post, stating that Krafton firmly believes in responsible gaming and is dedicated to fostering fair gameplay. Unfair practices are not tolerated, and we adhere strictly to rules and regulations. We have observed that Team Stalwart Esports has violated fair play by violating 2.1.5 and 6.2.4 of the BGIS Rulebook. In accordance with 6.4.2, Team Stalwart Esports has been disqualified from BGIS 2023: THE GRIND. [We will announce a replacement team for BGIS 2023: THE GRIND shortly.]
After The Disqualification of the team CEO Sheikh Abubaker comes with an official Statement saying that
SUCCESS COMES FROM HARDWORK AND DEDICATION NOT FROM SHORTCUTS AND CHEATING. WE RESPECT AND STAND BY THE DECISION OF KRAFTON FOR DISQUALIFYING THIS SLOT WHICH WAS TRANSFERRED TO TEAM DYNAMIC ESPORTS BEFORE THE START OF THIS EVENT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE COULDN’T RENAME THE SLOT DUE TO SHORT NOTICE AND THAT’S WHERE WE GOT CAUGHT UP IN THIS. WE TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR MISTAKE AND SHOULD’VE ENSURED PROPER CHANGES TO AVOID SUCH SITUATION BUT WE DIDN’T.
WE SHOULDN’T HAVE ALLOWED THEM TO PLAY IF THE NAME WASN’T CHANGED BUT THE SLOT OWNERSHIP WAS NOT IN OUR CONTROL ANYMORE HENCE WE COULDN’T DECIDE WHO’D PLAY AND WHO WOULDN’T. WE DEFINITELY TAKE THIS AS A LESSON TO MAKE SURE WE DON’T COMPROMISE ON ANYTHING WHICH HARMS THE FAIR GAMING ENVIRONMENT NO MATTER HOW COMPLICATED THE SITUATION IS AND WE ALSO TAKE THIS MOMENT TO APOLOGISE TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY AND THE TEAMS WHO COULDN’T ACHIEVE GOOD RESULTS DUE TO THESE PLAYERS.
WHEN WE WERE MADE AWARE OF THE SITUATION, WE REACHED OUT TO KRAFTON OURSELVES AND REQUESTED THEM TO DISQUALIFY THE SLOT SO THAT THE NEXT DESERVING TEAM GETS QUALIFIED, WE HAVE NEVER TRIED TO DEFEND WHAT THESE PLAYERS DID. AN ORGANISTION IS A SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR ALL PLAYER’S FINANCIALLY AS WELL AS IT GIVES THEM RECOGNITION. ORGANISTION IN ANY CAPACITY DOES NOT KNOW OR WOULD NEVER SUPPORT THE PLAYERS TO USE UNFAIR MEANS BECAUSE WE ARE WELL AWARE THAT IN THE END, IT WILL RESULT IN HUMILIATION AND EMBARRASSMENT.
THIS PUTS US AND ALL THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION IN FEAR TOO TO STEP UP IN BGMI SCENARIO.BUT AT THE LAST ALL THE BLAME COMES TO THE ORGANISATION, WHO STRIVES HARD TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAYERS IN SUCH HIGHLY COMPETITIVE MARKET. WE WOULD REQUEST ALL THE PLAYERS TO MAINTAIN A FAIR PLAY ENVIRONMENT ANDWORK HARD TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS.
The disqualification comes after the team played their matches in Week 2 of The Grind. Their first two matches did not go well, but they played the 3rd Sanhok Map well and managed to qualify for the next round. On the other hand, several teams uploaded a video in which their players were seen using the hack.
However, Stalwart Esports did not announce the playing roster officially. The full roster that played The Grind is all female, including STExKUHU, STExKYSTAL, STExBECKY, and STExNoraa.
This roster is originally from Dynamic Esports. Before the start of the matches, Dynamic Esports announced that their roster would play The Grind as Stalwart Esports.
BGIS is the premier tournament for underdogs, where they have the biggest chance to compete with India’s top-tier teams. But news like this clearly downplays the underdogs, as one team’s cheating affects other teams as well. In Group 11, Stalwart Esports will surely affect some deserving teams chances.
