Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), a popular battle royale game, has successfully completed its three-month trial period in India, following its spectacular comeback to India under a three-month trial period from the Indian government.
After being suspended by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in July 2022 over security and data concerns, the BGMI made a remarkable return to India in May 2023. Now that BGMI has successfully completed the 3-month trial period without any interruption, during the period BGMI has touched new heights in esports, from being televised on national television to being streamed on one of the largest OTT giants, JioCinema.
BGMI also completed 100 million+ downloads on the Google Play Store, showcasing its popularity in India. Krafton made lots of effort to make the game safe and stay away from addiction by setting a play time limit for under-16 players, who can only play for up to 3 hours, while 18+ players can play for up to 6 hours. This is a great move by Krafton to satisfy MeitY’s concern about game addiction in kids.
