Cricket 22: Pat Cummins replaces Tim Paine from cover- The official licensed Ashes game, Cricket 22 has been again delayed for a week as developers plan to change the digital cover of the game which was earlier decided to be featured by Tim Paine. Amid the texting scandal and his resignation as Australia’s Test captain, Paine has been removed from the cover and Pat Cummins will now be featured as a replacement.
Though the developers will be able to change the digital cover, the physical covers of the highly-anticipated cricket game will feature Tim Paine which will make it an instant collector’s item. The release date of the official ashes game has been pushed by a week and is expected to release on December 02, 2021.

Big Ant released the updated cover photo of Pat Cummins and the Australian women’s cricket team captain, Meg Lanning. Big Ant said, “To ensure the highly anticipated Cricket 22 game gets to fans by 2nd December, Big Ant Studios are proud to announce that Pat Cummins, vice-captain of the Australian men’s cricket team, will be on the Cricket 22 digital cover alongside Australian women’s team captain Meg Lanning.”
The release day patch had to be delayed because of Tim Paine’s sudden resignation.

Ross Symons, the CEO of Big Ant said in a conference, “Factors beyond our control have meant that we need to update the game’s cover art, other visuals and team lists. There was a critical day 1 patch that players will need to enjoy the full Cricket 22 experience that has consequently needed to be revoked. Everyone at Big Ant Studios would like to thank our fans and supporters for understanding our need to do this, ensuring the game is as full and authentic cricket experience as possible.”
This is the first time that a Big Ant Studios has delayed any game launch and fans are eagerly waiting to experience the upcoming cricket game.
