Carnival Gaming wins Skyesports Showdown CS2
Carnival Gaming is a new entrant in the Counter-Strike 2 esports scene but has already managed to win a major esports tournament, earning the accolade of one of the best teams in the country. Carnival Gaming’s roster is comprised of:
- Jaspreet “SpawN” Singh
- Vishwesh “CycloneF” Waradkar
- Garvit “Ember” Nehra
- Piyush “clouda” Kalwania
- “Rider”
The Skyesports Showdown was presented by LG UltraGear™, the industry-leading gaming monitor, while AMD, the semiconductor manufacturer of choice by gamers, was the “Powered by” sponsor.
While Carnival Gaming cruised through the Open Qualifiers, their journey in the Skyesports Showdown Playoffs wasn’t the easiest. The team won their first game against Marcos Gaming 2-0 but then faced the formidable team of True Rippers. Despite winning the first game in the best-of-three series, True Rippers managed to come back to win 2-1.

Carnival wasn’t done, though, as they dropped to the lower bracket, where they faced Victores. After a comfortable 2-0 victory, they once again found themselves against True Rippers, but this time in the Grand Finals. Carnival’s fortunes were different this time around as they won the series 2-0 to become the Skyesports Showdown Champions.
Commenting on the team’s journey from formation to this victory, Carnival Gaming’s SpawN said, “Our start was rough because our roster was made up of players from different teams. So the mentality and synergy we had towards the game were different and it took us a while to adapt. A lot of people said that our roster wouldn’t work. But, within a month, we have been able to win this tournament.”
With the victory, Carnival Gaming will walk away with INR 70,000 of the INR 100,000 prize pool. Next up, the team will be preparing for the India Qualifier for the Skyesports Championship 2024. The main event of the Championship is set to take place as an on-ground event with teams from around the world competing for a share of the $200,000 prize pool.
