The 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, which established a woman’s right to an abortion, was overruled by a US court, which ruled that individual states may impose their own restrictions or outright bans on the operation.
Call of Duty pros react to the Supreme Court’s ruling
Unsurprisingly, the decision attracted onslaught from the community. Several celebrities, including musical sensation Taylor Swift shared their dismay over the decision.
The esports community, too, didn’t hesitate from penning down their thoughts and sharing them via Twitter.
Heartbroken for the women in America right now. This ruling isn’t about saving lives, it about controlling women & what they can & cannot do with their bodies.

What in the world is happening to this country, sickening.

In light of today’s Supreme Court decision, we want to make it clear that NYXL supports women, nonbinary people, & all else who choose to have abortions.
Fuck the 6 Justices who voted to overturn Roe v Wade.

Don’t think there’s a word to adequately describe the feeling of women everywhere today. I don’t talk about politics on here for obvious reasons but, quite bluntly, it’s not our fucking business what women do with their bodies.

Still mind blown about the Supreme Courts decision to not protect a Woman’s right over their own body.

When and IF I decide to have a child I will certainly not be in the US 🙂

Not the men that have never touched a woman in their life in my replies like it affects them 💀
— Allycxt♡ (@Allycxt) June 24, 2022
Not arguing a single one of you. My body and womens bodies are NONE of your fucking business.

Incidentally, the entire esports community doubled down to share their disappointment over the baffling ruling by the apex court.
Twitch, which is an arena dominated by content creators has also become a platform for political discourse. Interestingly, behemoths of the platform, too, joined the bandwagon and expressed their concerns on Twitter.
Creators like Pokimane, HasanAbi and others also react to the ruling
One of the most controversial streamers on the purple platoform, HasanAbi, was amongst the first to respond to the ruling. Hasan is popularly known for his unfiltered personality and while it has landed him in turbulent waters more often than not, his remark was a breath of fresh air for the entire community.
the federalist society got todays decision in only 4 decades. all 6 of the scotus justices that voted to take away womens bodily autonomy are current or former members.

Pokimane has served as an advocate for women in gaming ever since she became a household name. The founder of OfflineTV and the business mogul exposed the hypocrisy in the controversial ruling.
they’re not pro-life, they’re pro-minimizing-women’s-rights.
if they were pro life, we’d have better gun control, universal healthcare, better support for homeless people & those in need.
don’t be fooled by their jargon.

If you don’t have autonomy over your own body, what real freedom can you have?

While the entire community is recuperating from the effects of the ruling, Call of Duty pros and other content creators are leaving no stone unturned to expose the flaws in the Supreme Court ruling.
