Esports Premier League postpones BGMI ESPL Season 2 LAN Finals
Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports Premier League Season 2 ( BGMI ESPL Season 2) was one of the biggest open-to-all events, with teams from all over India participating in the event. The event featured a massive prize pool of 10,000,000 INR. The Grand Finals of the event were scheduled to be a LAN event in Delhi, where 16 finalist teams would battle over a 5-day-long competition. However, following the BGMI ban, organizers have had to change the course of action and postpone the LAN Finals.
Speaking about the situation, the Esports Premier League announced,
“As we understand, the entities concerned will evaluate/ pursue the matter in accordance with the directions issued by the Government of India. We are therefore constrained to put the ESPL Season 2, on hold, in light of the government’s directions and the prevailing circumstances. This is an unfortunate situation for all esports enthusiasts, and also a huge setback for India Today Gaming, at this stage of the tournament. However, upon closure of the matter favorably, we intend to renew the ESPL from the stage where we are leaving it now, which means that the selected finalist teams will be invited again to take the tournament forward to the Finals.”
