Asmongold showered Gabe Newell with encouraging words after NFTs were banned from Steam games- As the hype around NFTs is on the rise, there are some big personalities including streamers who aren’t mincing their words while talking about this new technology. Twitch streamer Asmongold applauded Valve co-founder Gabe Newell’s decision of banning NFTs from Steam games discouraging “sketchy” technology like this.
Basically, NFTs are non fungible tokens that are minted and verified on the blockchain that they are based on. NFTs can range from anything as simple as a digital stroke of line or as complex as a 3D visualiser of your whole city. Meanwhile many are of the opinion that it is less of an art and more of a scam.

Asmongold, who has always spoken against this blockchain technology, calling it “stupider than astrology”, has praised Gabe Newell’s action. Many other top Twitch streamers including Pokimane, xQc, HasanAbi have also mocked NFTs, unable to figure out the reason behind the huge attention that it’s gathering.
In one of Asmongold’s recent streams, after getting to know about the ban of NFTs on Steam games, he praised Gabe for his decision, “Thank you, Gabe. This is exactly what we needed to f**king have,” he said. “It’s actually just that simple. He’s not banning them because he doesn’t believe in them, or because he hates crypto entirely, it’s just that whenever 99% of the NFT promotions are f**king scams then maybe we shouldn’t do them.”
The Twitch star then came up with the perfect analogy for why Steam won’t have NFTs: “It’s like Walmart, they don’t want to sell cyanide right there next to the baking grease.”
Asmongold further explained the reason behind the carze about NFTs, as people investing in it hold on to the sudden booming value that it might fetch. However, he warns people of the dangers of investing in this “ridiculous” technology. Follow InsideSport.IN for more updates.
