Twitch streamer Asmongold, who has gained a cult following for streaming World of Warcraft since 2013, never shies away from providing unpopular opinions. He recently expressed his disliking towards mounts from in-game stores which according to him ruins the game. This statement came at a time when Blizzard announced their new addition of a store mount to World of Warcraft- Wen Lo, the River’s Edge. Players have to buy a six month subscription to avail the mount. The beautiful watery-blue tiger is desirable to most World of Warcraft players. However, streamer Asmongold is of the opinion that players who are buying store mounts are causing harm to the game.

Asmon went ahead to say, “As part of my contractual obligation, I am required to complain about every new store mount. Store mounts suck”. I hate store mounts,” he reiterated to his audience. “I think that they’re stupid, and I don’t think they should be in the game. That’s my opinion.” Fans demanded for the reason which is when he elaborated on his views.

The streamer pointed out how in-game store mounts give developers a “profit incentive” to make them better than they already available standard ones in-game. “Store mounts are always better quality than the ones in the game. That’s why I don’t like them. That’s the whole reason. I’ve never liked store mounts, and I’ve always said that I think that they’re bad for the game.”

Recently, Asmongold had also expressed his views on why he thinks Final Fantasy XIV has an edge over World Of Warcraft. Furthermore, his current view on store mounts resonates with his previous opinion. “If you want to buy a store mount, I think you’re wrong. You doing it is actively harmful to the game. But it is what it is. It’s your money. You can do what you want with your own money. But you can’t expect everybody to just agree with it”, he added. However, this doesn’t reveal anything about streaming WOW, which he will keep playing as long as he enjoys the game.
