Apex Legends: Infected gamers not to be allowed to play the Global Series Championship
Apex Legends has released the COVID protocols that need to be followed at the Global Series Championships. According to the reports, gamers who test positive for COVID at the event won’t be allowed to participate. However, the organization respects their dedication and efforts toward the esports sector. Therefore, they will be provided lodging and travel support by EA.

Apex Legends Global Series Championship is basically a LAN event. According to the organizers, it is not feasible to hold remote gameplay to uphold the fair play of the event. These policies were already communicated to the teams and they are allowed to register an additional player for the roster as a substitute.
The COVID protocols from Apex Legends did not please several professionals. These gamers did not hold back and openly criticized the organization.
TSM Albralelie was the most vocal and pointed out how other esports segments had the option to include COVID-infected gamers in a different setup.
The players care about this game immensely, this is our passion and our livelyhood. You're great at making stages, venue selection etc. But you aren't so great at actually making sure the players get to actually stand on that stage after travelling across the world for it.

Absolutely not. See valorant/league of legends/rocket league/counter strike covid rulings. Seperate isolated booths for covid positive cases, whether they are on site or at a seperate monitored location doesn't matter. Playing from hotel rooms already provided by PGL is an option

NICKMERCS from Faze Clan kept it simple. But the reply was enough to state that the decision certainly was not pleasant for him.
Ridiculous.

NRG Sweet and Alliance Hakis also supported the professionals and criticized the lack of facility from Apex Legends’ side. Both gamers pointed out the ways in which the event could be organized and hoped that the criticisms results in some positive outcome in future events.
Terrible! Get a grip we’re 3 years into this shit, got to stop letting it ruin peoples dreams. Every competitor would be willing to welcome a remote player with higher ping if it meant everyone who qualified and worked so hard got the chance to play.

Horrible response to the shitty situation that the guidelines have put players in.
There's so many ways this could have been done better for the biggest tournament in Apex Legends so far.
Really hope the feedback actually gets heard this time around.

With so much negative feedback pouring in, Apex Legends should really consider the ways to let COVID-positive gamers participate. Setting up of confined booth, or allowing them to participate from remote locations such as a nearby hotel could be a few ways to go around the obstacle. It is to be seen how the franchise makes up for the recent debacle in the near future.
