The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) has been officially appointed by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) as the Technical Delegate for the Esports event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. This significant appointment underscores the growing prominence of esports within the prestigious multi-sport event.
Esports at 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026
Mr. Jeff Lam, AESF Head of Esports, has been designated as the Technical Delegate and will represent the federation at the 1st Technical Delegates Meeting of the 20th Asian Games, scheduled from April 30th to May 2nd, 2025, in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. During this meeting, the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee (AINAGOC) will provide comprehensive briefings on the Games’ preparation status, covering key areas such as accommodation, catering, transportation, logistics, security, accreditation, medical services, anti-doping, and sports operations. Site visits to the respective competition venues will also be conducted.
In his role as Technical Delegate, Mr. Lam will be responsible for overseeing all refereeing operations and ensuring the seamless execution of the esports competitions. He will work closely with AINAGOC to guarantee that all technical arrangements align fully with the Esports Technical and Competition Regulations for the 20th Asian Games. Mr. Lam will be supported by a team of Technical Officials, who will play a crucial role in upholding fair competition and promoting the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
