TSM GODLIKE BGMI controversy: GODLIKE accused of “stealing” G2 Esports’ jersey design
Earlier this week, Indian esports organization TSM had accused GODLIKE of poaching Shadow, weeks ahead of the upcoming LAN. This accusation, and the incidents that followed led to immense confusion within the community.
While TSM accused GODLIKE of poaching the BGMI player without any consultation with the former organization, GODLIKE stated that Shadow had already submitted his request for termination from TSM when they approached him, making it clear that Shadow was an independent player then. Furthermore, Shadow has also backed GODLIKE’s statement, revealing how he was mistreated at TSM.
This comes shortly after Shadow alleged TSM of harassment and being exploited, allegations that TSM and team members have called completely false pic.twitter.com/3OfQT6ir7I

However, amidst this ongoing feud, GODLIKE seems to be troubled with new accusations. Fans noticed an eerie similarity between their jersey design and that of G2 Esports from the 2020 League of Legends tournament. Naturally, this spread like wildfire within the community, and GODLIKE faced a lot of backlash from the esports community for stealing another organization’s jersey.

It’s literally the same jersey, same logo

However, GODLIKE’s owner, Krontengaming, responded to the allegations, suggesting that the jersey was merely “inspired” by G2’s jersey, and it could not really be called stealing, since they never tried to sell the jerseys despite their fans requesting them to do so multiple times.

This even prompted a series of backlash for the organization, as many fans believe that Krontengaming needs to have a better PR game.
Not cool to call it a copy because we never…sold them?
Everyone liked the jersey we didn’t steal the idea but…we all learn from mistakes?
It was inspired from g2 but…designed from scratch?Needs a PR lesson

It’s not a copy, they moved the image over 2 inches. That makes it different right? pic.twitter.com/gGUYHwfT1C

So far, things are not looking bright for GODLIKE. However, fans cannot do much except wait and see how this controversy unfolds for both teams in the future.
