MP To Launch India’s First Esports Academy
The Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Department is going to launch India’s first eSports Academy with a talent search from July 23 to August 7 during the MP State Junior Esports Championship, where 12 to 17-year-olds can participate in the tournament, which is going live for 10 days.

This 10-day competition will be attended by children aged 12 to 17, according to Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia. “MP has evolved into a sports mecca.” “The goal of establishing the Esports Academy is to promote all such sports that have a presence in the Asian Games and Olympics,” Scindia explained. “MP’s Break Dance and Esports Academy are the first such academies in the country that will give the youth an opportunity to hone their skills in these new sports in addition to traditional sports,” she said.
This is a significant boost for the Indian eSports business, which has enormous potential. The esports sector is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and it is expected to grow rapidly in India. The Esports Market was valued at USD 1.22 billion in 2021 and is expected to increase at a CAGR of 21% between 2023 and 2030. The projected amount is expected to increase from USD 1.44 billion in 2022 to USD 5.48 billion by 2030.
This year, India also participated in ongoing the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022. The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC) has also confirmed that esports will be one of the medal sports at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya in 2026.
This is going to be the major thing for eSports in India, as the government started recognizing it from PM Narendra Modi’s vision to make eSports the next big thing by adding eSports to multi-sport events and eSports to be officially introduced by the Bihar government, making Training centers and athlete recognition, and Now Madhya Pradesh’s step to launch India’s first eSports academy.
