Haaland’s remarkable achievement puts him in elite company. Only eight players in Premier League history have reached the 30-goal mark in a 38-game season. The list includes Alan Shearer, Kevin Phillips, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez, Mo Salah, and now Erling Haaland.
Notably, Shearer and Andy Cole still share the overall Premier League record for most goals scored in a single season, however, Haaland is on track to break that record too in the coming weeks.
Haaland’s most impressive display this season came during Manchester City’s 7-0 demolition of RB Leipzig earlier in their Champions League campaign, where he managed to score five goals. He became just the second player in the competition’s history, after Lionel Messi, to achieve this accolade.
