ENG vs AUS: England run-chase: Coming to chase 126 runs, Jos Buttler and Jason Roy gave England a flying start at the opening duo added 66 runs inside the powerplay – the highest powerplay total in T20 WC 2021.

Australia tasted its first success in the seventh over Adam Zampa removed Jason Roy and broke the opening partner.

ENG vs AUS: Joint-fastest fifty of the tournament: However, Jos Buttler kept going at the same momentum and slammed a 25-ball 50, the joint-fastest fifty of the tournament.

Ashton Agar then removed Dawid Malan cheaply in the tenth over with England’s scorecard reading 99/2 at halfway mark.

Coming to bat after Malan’s dismissal, J Bairstow then smashed two back-to-back sixes in the 11th over. In the end, England chased down the total with 8 wickets in hand & 50 balls to spare.  Buttler remained unbeaten on 71 off 32, hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Earlier, England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to field first at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.

Australia never found the rhythm as they lost four wickets with the score reading just 21 in 6.1 overs. While Aaron Finch held the other end, Australia kept on losing wickets. Skipper Aaron Finch was the lone warrior for Australia as he led a lone fightback with 44 runs off 49 balls but it was not enough.

Had it not been for Ashton Agar’s 20 and some power hitting from Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc helped them reach 125. Eventually, Australia were bowled out for 125. Chris Jordan was the rockstar for England as he returned with excellent bowling figures of 3-17 in his four overs. Tymal Mills and Chris Woakes too picked up two wickets each.
