Old-school MMA fans will enjoy the UFC contests this weekend at UFC fight night at Apex as striking ace A new Edson Barboa enters the octagon this Saturday. The celebrated striker will square off against up-and-coming fighter Sodiq Yusuff in the main event of the UFC Vegas 81 event on October 14.
In September 2019, Edson Barboza dropped to the featherweight division after falling to Paul Felder at UFC 242. Since then, he has compiled a 3-3 record in the division including victories against players like Makwan Amirkhani and Shane Burgos.

Edson Barboza: At UFC Apex On Saturday
In April 2023, the Brazilian fighter ended a two-fight losing streak by brutally knocking out Billy Quarantillo. He will try to string together victories inside the octagon at UFC Vegas 82.
Sodiq Yusuff, his rival, has been progressively moving up the division in the meantime. With the exception of his April 20, 2021, unanimous decision defeat to Arnold Allen, Yusuff has never lost in the UFC octagon. In his most recent matches, he had back-to-back victories over Dan Shainis and Alex Caceres.
Yusuff, who is ranked eleventh in the featherweight class, will face Barboza, who is ranked thirteenth, in UFC Fight Night event this weekend on Saturday.
This weekend’s UFC fight card features multiple contests that properly balance the main event. There aren’t many well-known fighters on the Fight Night card, though. On this event, there are a lot of fighters who are not well-known among casual fans. Nevertheless, as we’ve seen time and time again, the cards we overlook can produce the most thrilling battles.
This weekend’s UFC fights fit into the same category. Women’s flyweight competition between Viviane Araujo and Jennifer Maia, a former title contender, is the co-main event. Adrian Yanez and Jonathan Martinez, both bantamweights, will appear on the main card.
