Doctor’s evaluation awaited as Hardik Pandya injury seriousness in focus

The scan results are being forwarded to a specialist in Mumbai

For at least another day, the Indian squad will have to wait before learning the full extent of Hardik Pandya injury. In Pune on Thursday, October 19, the all-rounder twisted his left ankle and was only able to bowl three deliveries during Bangladesh’s innings.

Hardik Pandya’s first over of the game, the ninth, was when the injury happened when he attempted to stop the ball with his leg during the follow-through. He limped off the field with the helpers, and Virat Kohli eventually finished the over.

Hardik Pandya underwent a scan, the results of which are still awaited, according to a statement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday.

Hardik Pandya injury trouble for India

According to Cricbuzz, the scan results are being forwarded to a specialist in Mumbai, and the doctor’s evaluation will be used to determine the next course of action.

Hardik Pandya was examined and then returned to the ground. Although it wasn’t necessary, it is known that he would have batted if it had been essential. India easily chased down the 257-run mark set by Bangladesh to win the WC match by seven wickets.

The severity of the injury was downplayed by Rohit Sharma, who said, “He pulled up a bit sore, nothing really major to worry about. Tomorrow morning, we’ll check on his condition and decide how to proceed.”

Despite the captain’s assurances, informed sources do not rule out resting him for the upcoming game against New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22.

It has been reported that Pandya’s ankle is giving him a lot of trouble. After hurting his ankle, the agony was so bad that he was unable to finish the over for Bangladesh.

When asked about Pandya’s condition after the game, wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul replied that he was unaware of his teammate’s injury situation. “I just noticed him in the changing room. Hopefully tonight, but I’m not sure, the medical team should have some updates,” KL Rahul stated during the post-game discussion.
