Twitch TV meta is not letting any streamer escape the trap it has laid out. It started out by banning popular streamer Pokimane for reacting to the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, under DMCA claims. The next big target was HasanAbi for streaming MasterChef on living and was handed out DMCA strike. And now Disguised Toast fell prey to its claims. Popular streamer Disguised Toast was banned from the platform after broadcasting the prominent anime “Death Note” to his viewers.

“They really couldn’t have waited 20 more minutes huh?” Toast tweeted after the strike. He was streaming Death Note on his Twitch channel on 10th January. He was done watching 25 episodes when the ban knocked in. Despite the ban, it seems Toast and his fans are taking this situation lightly and are in good spirits. The Internet didn’t leave the opportunity to joke about the situation. Streamers like xQc, Pokimane, HasanAbi and others also reacted to his ban and had different takes on it.

Earlier Disguised Toast was known for his famous reaction streams on full-length episodes of Naruto on his Twitch channel. After Pokimane’s ban, he had also discussed reaction streams and DMCA claims at length and how xQc’s dedicated fan base saves him from facing any major backlash.
It’s unclear why streamers are latching on to copyrighted materials despite being aware of the risks involved in it. For now, it is not clear for how long Disguised Toast will be suspended from Twitch. Some say it would be a 48 hours ban as was in the case of Pokimane, but we can’t be sure until there’s a further update.
