Men’s Singles

In the men’s singles, Lakshya Sen who is currently ranked World No.8 will have a tough challenge in the first round of the tournament as he will be up against sixth seeded Antony Ginting from Indonesia. Both the players had already faced twice this year with Lakshya winning both the matches.

Lakshya will once again look to repeat such a performance but Ginting cannot be taken lightly and it is expected to be a blockbuster contest.

Meanwhile, HS Prannoy also finds himself in the same quarter that has Lakshya Sen. Prannoy will begin his campaign by facing China’s Zhao Junpeng. Both the players faced each other twice this year with the Chinese winning both the matches.

Prannoy faces a tough challenge and he will look to change the script this time around. If both Lakshya and Prannoy win the first round, they will be facing each other for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth finds himself in the top quarter of the draw and will begin his campaign by facing Hong Kong’s unseeded Angus Ng Ka Long in the first round. Both the players have a 3-3 head-to-head record and the Indian will look to take lead in the head-to–head battle between the two players.

If Srikanth defeats Long, he is likely to face seventh seed Loh Kean Yew in the second round. The quarter also has top seed, Viktor Axelsen.

Meanwhile, the seeded player in this quarter are Second seed Tai Tzu Ying and fifth seed Ratchanok Intanon. Saina is likely to set up clash with Intanon in the second round.
