Reportedly, the Glazer brothers put a valuation of a huge £6 billion when they decided to sell the club. Since the process started, English businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe from Ineos Group and Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim have come close to their valuation. However, bids are still less than the Glazers’ asking price. The bids from both have been around £5-5.5 billion. Several other bidders have come forward. They offered to take over minority stakes of the club. However, Glazers were looking to sell Man United, so the leading bidder remains to be Ineos Group.

Reportedly, Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer have been reluctant to give up the entire control of Manchester United. That could be the reason why Jim Ratcliffe’s offer has been leading rather than Sheikh Jassim’s. However, even if Ineos Group end up buying Man United for £5-5.5 billion, Ratcliffe’s agreement will have a put-and-call arrangement. This will let the English businessman to buy the remaining Glazers’ shares after 3 years. Even if the Glazers’ decide to sell the club to Ineos Group now, it will still be done after the FA Cup final.

Manchester United face treble chasers Manchester City next week. Man United and Man City, both will be looking for their second trophy of the season. Man United ended there trophy drought of 6 years as they won the Carabao Cup back in February. Compared to last few seasons, Men United’s form has significantly improved. They are ending the season with a place in next year’s Champions League. With one cup already in the bag and chasing another, they will be looking to improve further next season.

With a better position and form, coach Erik Ten Hag and Co. are looking to improve the squad further in order to take control of their fate in all competitions next season. As they are back in the Champions League, Ten Hag is planning to bring on big names, like Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Mason Mount, and more. However, how much the owners are willing to spend and the discussion about which players to bring in can only happen after the owners of the club are finalised. Hence, the delay has been a headache for everyone.

It has not been easy for Manchester United since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013. Glazers bought the club in 2005 and their 18 years as the club’s owners have been met with numerous protests and a visible decline in trophy numbers. After Sir Alex Ferguson left, it became conspicuous, he was the only person holding the club in it’s place. Hence, the fans are eagerly waiting for the sale to finish and to see off the Glazers brothers. The club’s transfer plans have also been in jeopardy because of the uncertain and delayed process.
