DD vs BT Highlights: Ravichandran Ashwin-led Dindigul Dragons registered a convincing 6-wicket win against Ba11sy Trichy in the 4th match of TNPL 2023. Chasing 121, Dragons never looked in any trouble as they chased down the target in 14.5 overs. Shivam Singh (46) was the top scorer for Dragons. Earlier, Trichy were bundled out for 120 runs despite some valiant effort from skipper Ganga Sridhar Raju (48) and R Rajkumar (39). For Dragons, Varun Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers with the ball as he scalped three wickets for just 21 runs. The spinner was also adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant spell.
Earlier, Ba11sy Trichy skipper Ganga Sridhar Raju won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the decision soon turned out to be the wrong one as the side lost 4 wickets inside the first 6 overs. Sridhar along with Shajahan stitched a crucial 21-run partnership to steady the innings. Later, Rajkumar along with skipper put on a 60-run partnership to help Trichy put a respectable total onboard. However, the total proved to be too easy to chase for the Dragons as they reached the target with 31 balls to spare.
With this win, Dindigul Dragons have opened their account in TNPL 2023. They are currently on 4th spot with 2 points.
