Former Barcelona and Brazil fullback Dani Alves,, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty of rape. A woman accused Alves of sexually assaulting her in a Barcelona nightclub. Sh was claiming that she was the recipient of his actions. After hearing the woman and a witness’ evidence on Friday, a judge in Spain ordered Alves to remain in detention.

The Brazilian veteran was accused of sexual assault on December 30, 2022. According to reports, Alves went to the Mossos d’Esquadra de Les Corts police station to give a statement . The most recent sources state that Alves will soon arrive at Barcelona’s Ciutat de la Justicia. Dani Alves was given a prison term without the possibility of bail.

According to “La Vanguardia,” the football player will urge the judge to release him on bond. Because the judge believed the Brazilian posed a high risk of flight, this was initially rejected. This coming Monday, the Brazilian player’s defence team will submit an appeal against the judge’s order of temporary detention without bail, which was made on January 20. The squad is directed by famous criminal defence attorney Cristobal Mertell.

These guarantees, according to the source, may involve wearing a telematic bracelet to track his whereabouts at all times. Additionally, there is the passport delivery and daily sign-ins at the Barcelona court. As Martell will remember, Dani Alves shown his good nature by willingly presenting himself to the Mossos even though he knew he would be detained.

Alves, is currently being imprisoned in module 13 of the Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Brians 2 jail. He continues to adjust to prison life. There is “no favourable treatment or unusual measures” with regard to Alves in Brians 2, according to sources consulted by the publication.

According to their sources, Alves said in prison that: “I will accept whatever comes. I left home when I was only 15 years old. I have overcome very difficult and complicated situations in my life. This will be one more that will pass. I’m not afraid of anything”.

The player’s attorneys are certain that their appeal will be successful after carefully reviewing all of the case’s evidence.  Alves will be let out of prison within a month. According to the football player’s legal team, the court will have 30 days to review the defence’s brief. Hear arguments from the prosecution and the public prosecutor’s office, and then render a verdict.
