Alot of people had wanted to see GSP potentially fight with the retired player Khabib Nurmagomedov. Dana agreed to have made the call to put on the prospect to both the fighters, he said, someone had written not a factual story about Dana lying to the GSP about Khabib.
This incident took place after both players had retired. GSP had said, that Dana had called him first and asked him if he wanted to fight the Ultimate Champ Khabib, but on the contrary Khabib had not agreed to the prospect.

To this, Dana says, you gotta call somebody first. Dana said, “ You gotta call somebody first. I don’t get them on a f*cking three-way calling”.
Dana then explained why he had made the call. George had been retired for a much longer time, so the main question was, would he even consider the offer of fighting Khabib, to which GSP responded affirmatively.

Which is when Dana went on to talk to the potential opponent Khabib. When Dana read the article on the issue of when GSP felt like he was lied to, he felt very weird. When asked if it was even possible for Khabib and GSP to be each other’s opponents for the grappling match, Dana said he would love to pull it off. Though it’s not something they have already started doing. But if it was possible someday. Dana and his team would love to pull that off.
