The fight between Colby Covington and Leon Edwards at UFC 295 has now been confirmed by Dana White, along with the Jones vs. Miocic co-main event. Edwards later put the brakes on that plan, aiming for a return on November 11th instead of Edwards vs Covington at UFC London, which was earlier planned to take place at London’s The O2.

Since losing to Kamaru Usman, whom he had previously knocked out to win the title, at UFC 286 in March, “Rocky” hasn’t competed.
After the fight, Dana White disclosed that Colby Covington, who weighed in as the backup fighter for UFC 286, is the next in line to challenge for Edwards’ welterweight belt on November 11th in New York.
As the announcement is made out officially, UFC fans react to the post by saying “The reign of chaos begins”.
Covington was initially ruled out as a challenger by Edwards, who claimed the twice-declared welterweight champion wasn’t deserving of a shot at the title. However, his representative then said that the British celebrity wouldn’t “die on the hill” to challenge another competitor, such as the on-the-rise Belal Muhammad.

Edwards was considering fighting at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, and the lightweight champion Islam Makhachev recently challenged the welterweight champion to a matchup there. According to White, the company has already booked events through that month, leaving open slots on the pay-per-view card for November, which is currently headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and former champion Stipe Miocic.
