The latest development is a big worry for the Indian women’s relay team. It is important to mention that Dhanalkshmi was also an integral part of the squad and were training with the rest of her team mates too.
With two of the six relay members having tested positive, the AFI are in a spot of bother. It would be very difficult to find a like-for-like replacement at the 12th hour.
So they will have to do with the four athletes, but an injury might derail their campaign. If required, they might have to look as cover in the form of other CWG-bound athletes.
Irrespective of what AFI decides with the team, the bigger issue is how athletes are regularly tested positive.
