CSK vs KKR Live – KKR beat CSK HIGHLIGHTS – Chennai Super Kings’ change in captain worked out poorly. However, despite exciting new talents, the opening day belonged to the OLD GUNS. MS Dhoni scored a fighting half-century to achor CSK and helped them post 131/5 in 20 overs. While another old gun Dwayne Bravo bowled brilliantly with 3/20, Ajinkya Rahane’s 44 off 34 to beat Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets in the first match at the Wankhede Stadium.

Earlier, defending champs CSK were off to the worst possible start after Umesh Yadav struck in the first over, removing last season’s Orange Cap holder Ruturaj Gaikwad. Devon Conway and Robin Uthappa also departed in quick succession as half the team was dismissed in 11 overs, leaving MS Dhoni and Jadeja with a tough task in hand.

Umesh Yadav, playing white-ball cricket after a long absence was brilliant in his spell. He returned with 2/20 in his four overs and the two crucial wickets set the tone of the match.

While MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja both struggled initially, it was their 70-run partnership off 56 balls to anchor CSK. In the end, MS Dhoni’s fifty 24th IPL fifty and first in three years helped CSK set 132-run target for KKR.

KKR never looked in trouble chasing 132. Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane set the stage with a 43-run opening stand. While Dwayne Bravo picked up quick wickets and spinners checked the scoring rate, KKR had the upper hand.

Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer and Sam Billings all contributed in the middle to take KKR across the finish line with an over to spare.
