- MS Dhoni has scored an IPL fifty after a gap of 28 innings, he was on fifty drought for the last two seasons. He broke Rahul Dravid’s record of being the oldest player to smash a half-century in cash-rich IPL.
- This could be a sign of things to come for Dhoni in his apparently last season at the CSK franchise in the post-captaincy era.
- R Jadeja could not start off on a good note as he ended up losing the toss and then involved in an unwanted runout of Ambati Rayudu. However, Dhoni, in his calm demeanour, helped Jadeja stay calm in the situation and played the role of an aggressor.
- Now, the bowlers need to put up a show to ensure the defending champions are off to a cracking start against Shreyas Iyer’s KKR.
MS Dhoni is the oldest Indian player to score an IPL fifty – 40y 262d.
The previous oldest was Rahul Dravid – 40y 116d.#CSKvKKR
