CSK Playing XI vs GT: GT vs CSK LIVE – While CEO Kasi Viswanathan has declared Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni fit, there are still concerns over his availability in the opener against defending champions Gujarat Titans. Dhoni suffered a knee injury during CSK’s practice but is declared to feature in Ahmedabad. However, CSK have another headache as Stokes will be only batting and won’t be bowling at least in the initial period. With Mukesh Chaudhary also out, CSK are in a tricky spot with their pace bowling options. Follow Indian Premier League 2023 LIVE updates with InsideSport.IN
Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ben Stokes, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Rajvardhan Hangargekar
“He is completely fit. There are no injury concerns,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Insidesport.IN
CSK had a rough season last year, finishing ninth in the standings. Super Kings had their poorest league-wide showing ever with four victories and ten defeats in 14 games.
CSK will attempt to perform at their highest level in this year’s league under the leadership of their legendary captain MS Dhoni after learning from their past errors. At the 2023 IPL auctions held in December of last year, the four-time champions also secured the services of dashing England all-rounder Ben Stokes for a sizable sum of INR 16.25 crore.

In order to justify the money spent on him, the team will look to the England Test captain to perform at his peak in his first season with CSK.
Stokes will provide the middle order, which currently includes Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and skipper Dhoni, some much-needed firepower.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is in fine form and had a great domestic season, especially in limited-overs cricket, is at the top of the order with New Zealand southpaw Devon Conway, and CSK are comfortable with their opening batters. Ambati Rayudu is likely to bat at No. 3 as he provides a plethora of experience to this position.
Along with Mukesh Choudhary, all-rounder Deepak Chahar will be in charge of the bowling attack as he appears to be fully healthy again. Ben Stokes will not bowl atleast in few opening matches of IPL 2023.
With Moeen Ali, Jadeja, and Mitchell Santner, Dhoni has a wide variety of spin bowling options to take advantage of the conditions in Motera, which have historically suited slow bowlers.
It is to be noted that Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana are not available for CSK in the IPL opener. Mukesh Choudhary is also nursing an injury and will miss some games.
