CSK becomes First IPL team to have 10M followers on Twitter

CSK are followed by Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad for most followers on Twitter.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered one more record under their name as they went on to become the first IPL team to have 10 million followers on Twitter. The official Twitter handle of CSK uploaded a post on their page to show their gratitude towards their fans and supporters. It must be noted that Chennai has one of the most loyal fans when it comes to giving support to their franchise.

As mentioned above, CSK became the first team to cross the 10 million followers mark on Twitter. The second on the list are Mumbai Indians who have a following 8.2 million. Royal Challengers Bangalore have 6.8 M followers and are stationed third on the list. Kolkata Knight Riders (5.2 million) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (3.2 million) are placed in the fourth and fifth spot respectively.

The rest of the list goes like Punjab Kings (2.9 M), Rajasthan Royals (2.7 M), Delhi Capitals (2.5 M), Lucknow Super Giants (760.4K) and lastly Gujarat Titans with 522.7K followers.

In IPL 2023, CSK won their record-leveling fifth trophy with a five-wicket win over the reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final. It was a fifth title win in 14 seasons for Chennai as they surpassed Mumbai Indians to become the most successful team in IPL history. 

Chennai had won their first IPL title in 2010 and then defended it in 2011. They were suspended for two years in 2016 and 2017 and came back to win their third title in 2018. They had a horror run in 2020 but bounced back with their fourth title in 2021. And after forgettable season in 2022, the Super Kings created history in 2023 with their fifth IPL crown.
