CSK beat MI Highlights: Vintage MS Dhoni PILES MORE MISERY on Mumabi, clinches last-ball thriller for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022
CSK beat MI highlights: Chasing 156 to win, Chennai Super Kings were in a spot of bother as it was down to 48 in the last four with two overs from Jasprit Bumrah. Mumbai bowled well to bring the equation down to 17 in the last over with Jaydev Unadkat set to bowl. Unadkat got Pretorius and reduced the equation to 16 off 4, when Dhoni unleashed himself, hitting a straight Six, before pulling one over short fine for a boundary.
Needing 6 from 2, Dhoni sneaked in a couple to make it 4 off the final ball, which he did get after Unadkat missed his mark again and bowled a low full toss. The former CSK captain’s heroics meant that Mumbai remained winless, while Chennai bagged only their second win of the season.

CSK’s chase got off to the worst possible start after Daniel Sams got Ruturaj Gaikwad 1st ball and followed it up with the wicket of Mitchell Santner. Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu rebuilt the innings but Mumbai Indians did well to pile the pressure in the middle overs.
With the scoring rate increasing, CSK lost wickets quickly with Ravindra Jadeja, and Shivam Dube all falling cheaply. Sams meanwhile had a monumental return to the team, ending up with figures of 4/30. MI looked on course to take the win but Dhoni and Pretorius had other ideas as Chennai went over the line in style.
Earlier, IPL’s El Clasico got off to a chaotic start as Mukesh Choudhary dismissed both Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for ducks in the first over. The left armer then got the in-form Dewald Brevis as MI stumbled early.

Suryakumar Yadav showed signs of aggression and kept the scoreboard ticking but soon departed as MI were staring at a subpar total. However, Tilak Varma held one end and got support from debutant Hrithik Shokeen as the five-time champions climbed out of a hole towards a respectable total.
Shokeen departed and an MS Dhoni masterstroke brought about the end of Kieron Pollard as MI’s final flourish went missing. However, Tilak stayed until the end to remain unbeaten on 51 while Unadkat played some lusty blows to get them to 155/7.
