Cristiano Ronaldo: Ronaldo hasn’t had the best of seasons this time around, for club or country. The Portuguese legend left Manchester United when he realized he would not be a starter at Old Trafford. He left in a huff and ruined his relationship with the fans after his interview with Piers Morgan. After Portugal’s elimination from the World Cup, CR7 joined Al Nassr, but it looks like they will end trophy-less this season. Now, some reports suggest that Ronaldo might be looking to leave the Saudi club. Reports also say that Real Madrid might be looking to bring back their legend. Follow Cristiano Ronaldo LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

Cristiano Ronaldo: Return of CR7? REAL MADRID comeback on cards for Ronaldo as his Al Nassr season continues to crumble, Check OUT

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has just recently joined Al-Nassr, is apparently a surprise target for his previous club Real Madrid. After terminating his contract with Manchester United in December, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed on with the Saudi elite.

However, it is been said that the Portuguese superstar wants to leave The Kingdom because his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez is dissatisfied and eager to return to Madrid. And according to the Spanish publication El Nacional, Los Blancos are willing to offer the 38-year-old a position as a club ambassador.

An excerpt of their report read, ‘Florentino Perez has guaranteed that [Ronaldo] will not lack work at the Santiago Bernabeu. But, obviously, he wouldn’t do it to be a player, because he considers that it is a cycle that should be considered closed.’

Ronaldo is Real’s all-time greatest scorer with 451 goals in 438 games throughout his nine trophy-laden years at the Bernabeu. The Portugal skipper lifted the Champions League trophy three times with Los Blancos and won La Liga and the Copa del Rey twice. A surprise return to the Premier League for Ronaldo with Newcastle United – who are currently owned by Saudis, has also been suggested.

Ronaldo’s season at Al Nassr

CR7 hasn’t been at his prolific best at Al Nassr this season. His arrival should have propelled the team to unimaginable heights but that hasn’t been the case at all. After Ronaldo’s arrival, the club slipped out of first place in the Saudi Pro League. They have also been knocked out of King Cup of Champions in the semi-final stage as well.

Since signing a massive £175 million-per-year contract with Al-Nassr, Ronaldo though has kept up his goal-scoring prowess. The attacker has made 12 appearances for Dinko Jelicic’s team, scoring 12 goals and dishing out two assists.

After Rudi Garcia was fired by Al-Nassr chiefs last month, Jelicic accepted the position. In response to Garcia’s firing, Ronaldo posted a touching farewell message to his former manager on his Instagram account. Alongside a picture of himself embracing Garcia, he wrote, ‘Pleasure to have worked with you. Wishing you all the best for the future.’

On Monday night, Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr teammates will return to play as they welcome Al-Khaleej to Al-Awwal Park. Al Nassr is in second place in the table with 56 points, whereas Al-Ittihad is at the top of the table, with 59 points and a game in hand too.
