With Afghanistan having not participated in a Twenty20 International in more than five months, Zimbabwe will try to take advantage of the chance to continue their winning run after their exciting victory over Pakistan.
Afghanistan, however, is progressively regaining momentum on the global scene after an outstanding but ultimately brief performance in the T20 World Cup semi-finals. They won ODI series against South Africa and Bangladesh, two teams vying for the Champions Trophy, in the United Arab Emirates despite playing little T20I since the competition. Afghanistan will be keen to return to their impressive performance in the shortest format, armed with their powerful spin attack under Rashid Khan’s leadership.
