ZIM vs PAK 1st Test Day 4, stumps Day 3 – Hasan Ali takes 5-wicket haul, Pakistan win by an innings and 116 runs- Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali continued his incredible performance in the second innings and run through the batting order of Zimbabwe on Day 3 of the second Test to help visitors win the Test by an innings and 116 runs. Nauman Ali picked two while Faheem Ashraf picked one wicket. For the hosts, Tarisai Musakanda was the highest score in the second innings as he could manage to score 43 runs before getting run-out.
Earlier, Pakistan batsman Fawad Alam continued his top form in the Test arena to complete his century and help Pakistan extend their lead over Zimbabwe on Day 2 at Harare. After Imran Butt (91) and Abid Ali (60) provided a solid start in their first innings, Fawad took the attack on Zimbabwe bowlers. Unfortunately, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam departed for a duck. Azhar Ali contributed 36 runs. Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani for 45.
It was one-way traffic on Day 1 as Pakistan had a flawless outing in Harare. If subsiding for a depressing 176 wasn’t bad enough, Zimbabwe were atrociously flat in the field, lacked consistency hitting the right lengths with the ball and allowed Imran Butt and Abid Ali, who put on an undefeated 100-plus opening partnership in response. The first session holds the key for the hosts and unless they don’t show more intensity, they’ll have to be prepared for a long day.
Earlier, Pakistan lead pacer Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi clinched four-wicket hauls to help visitors reduced Zimbabwe to 176/10. Nauman Ali also picked one wicket for the Men in Green. While for the hosts, Roy Kaia was the top scorer of the innings with a knock of 48 runs off 94 balls. Donald Tiripano, who was the second-highest run-scorer of the innings went back to the dugout not out.
Brendon Taylor’s Zimbabwe won the toss and asked Babar Azam’s Pakistan to field first in the 1st of the two-Test series.
