Surpasses Rishabh Pant
Before Richa, it was Rishabh Pant who held the record for the youngest wicketkeeper to score a fifty in international cricket for India. Pant achieved this milestone at the age of 21 years and 306 days, scoring 71 runs against the West Indies at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Indian batters dominate the UAE bowling lineup
As mentioned earlier, it was Richa Ghosh’s innings that helped the India Women’s team reach 201 runs in the match. Apart from her, Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma initially broke the UAE bowlers’ backbone with their aggressive innings of 66 runs and 38 runs, respectively, laying the foundation. Although India experienced a slight hiccup when Smriti Mandhana and Dayalan Hemalatha got out in quick succession, the Women in Blue managed to score a substantial total thanks to these three batters.
