Yorkshire Racism Row – 2nd Player Claim, ‘teammate urinated on him’: As per a Daily Mail report, a former Yorkshire player, who chose to remain anonymous, has come forward with fresh allegations of racism at the Yorkshire CCC. A player of Asian descent, he revealed that he was never given the same opportunities as white cricketers.
He also says he was told his allegations would be looked into, which they never were.

The coach at the time said ignore it and that he would deal with it. They never did.”
In another incident, the player in question said that he was dealt with humiliation during practice and had to sit out of a final due to an injury due to their treatment. He said, “When catching balls during training, these “team-mates” would intentionally throw the ball so hard from close range that it used to bruise my hands through the gloves. I remember having to miss out on a final once due to this injury.”
While the statement is yet to go public, Sportsmail claims to have seen it, which says that the player in question took ‘several years to get myself together’ after his experiences at Yorkshire. He added that people in the Asian community identify Yorkshire as racist, but the club have been cunningly able to continue with their agendas. The claims date back two decades and make for unpleasant reading and are yet to be investigated by Yorkshire or the ECB.

The player is understood to have been emboldened to speak out by Azeem Rafiq’s whistleblowing, which will be the subject of a hearing by the digital, culture, media and sport select committee on November 16. In a fresh turn of events, teammate Gary Ballance admitted to using a racial slur, calling Rafiq a ‘P***’ — a moniker the club concluded was part of ‘friendly and good-natured banter’.
While the investigation and the fallout in relation with the Azeem Rafiq racism case continues, these fresh allegations are a further blow to Yorkshire CCC especially with the involvement of ECB. A spokesperson told Daily Mail, ‘This behaviour would be completely unacceptable to the club. It goes without saying we will investigate thoroughly.’
