A star has been born! What a talent has India unearthed in Yashasvi Jaiswal. The swashbuckling southpaw has made his presence felt in Test cricket, in his short 7-match career. From starting his career with a 171 in the West Indies to treating one of the greatest ever Test bowlers like a club player.
Batting at 159 on Day 4 of the India vs England 3rd Test, the opener was oozing confidence. To get the batter out, Ben Stokes decided to give James Anderson the ball. Similar to what he did yesterday, Yashasvi Jaiswal decided to take the pacer on. He tried to hit his first ball but missed as Anderson bowled a wide one, following his shuffle.
The 41-year-old compensated on the next ball with a full toss, which Jaiswal swept over deep square leg. In a bid to keep the ball away from him, Anderson bowled a full wide ball, but the opener shuffled and hit it flat over deep extra cover to make. But, Jaiswal was far from done.
Under pressure, Anderson bowled a length ball on the 6th stump that Jaiswal muscled away over the top of the bowler’s head for a third consecutive six and raced to 177 in four balls.
