Ravichandran Ashwin is on a record-breaking spree after taking a 5-wicket haul in the India vs England 4th Test. After taking his 35th Test 5-wicket haul, the off-spinner went past Anil Kumble to become the Indian bowler with the most five-wicket hauls. The tall spinner has also equaled Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon with 9 five-wicket hauls in the World Test Championship (WTC).
Lyon took his last five-wicket haul in March 2023 against India and has played nine Test matches since but failed to reach the magical number. However, his Indian counterpart has come good in the 4th Test in Ranchi and tied him for the most 5-wicket hauls in the WTC.
