Pakistan are now second, with 24 points on board, out of a total of 36, with their Percentage of points being 66.66 per cent. Sri Lanka re ahead after their 100% record, while India have now slipped to third following their draw against New Zealand, which has seen their PCT fall to exactly 50%.

Teams qualify on a total percentage won basis to standardise the imbalance in the number of matches played by teams. The top two teams will compete in the ICC World Test Championship Final. Sri Lanka are currently on top of the table after 100% after defeating West Indies in the opening Test. They could slip from the top if they lose the ongoing second Test at Galle.
The points are categorised as follow– A team gets 12 points for winning a match, four for a draw and six for a tie. Teams lose one championship point for each over short.
New Zealand, meanwhile, would join West Indies with 33.33 per centage after their first-ever game for the WTC championship cycle 2021-23.
