India Cricket Team are now at the top of WTC Points Table despite not playing a Test match since the West Indies series. And they have to thank Pakistan for that. A crushing 360-run loss in AUS vs PAK 1st Test in Perth meant Pakistan lost points. And it has helped India reach the top spot in WTC Standings 2023-25 with 66.67 percentage points, joining Pakistan. World Test champions Australia remain 5th despite the win for the moment. New Zealand and Bangladesh with 50 percentage points each are joint third.
However, India’s position is only temporary. Both India and Pakistan will begin on the Boxing Day. While Pakistan will play in AUS vs PAK 2nd Test, the India Cricket Team will be in the IND vs SA 1st Test in Centurion.
In 2024, India Cricket Team will have two big assignments against England (a five-match Test series) and Australia in December. And results of both series are likely to dictate the WTC Points Table.
