WTC Points Table: Australia have tightened their grip at the summit of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) after beating Pakistan by 115 runs. The win also saw Australia clinch the three-match Test series 1-0 after the earlier two encounters ended in stalemate. Australia sitting pretty at the top – The win in Gaddafi stadium saw the Aussies register their fifth win of the current WTC cycle and increase their percentage points to 75. The Pat Cummins-led side is yet to lose in the WTC, having also won the Ashes 4-0. Currently, they have five wins and three draws to their name.

Numbers game – In eight matches so far, Australia have a win percentage of 75, while putting up a net points tally of 72. Interestingly, this was just their second series in the WTC after the Ashes.
India sit above Pakistan – India, who recently clinched the Test series against Sri Lanka sit in the third position ahead of Pakistan, who are now condemned to the fourth spot. India have a win percentage of 58.33 from 11 points while Pakistan have a win percentage of 52.38. Despite 77 net points, most by any team in the WTC standings, India sit third as percentage of points determine the standings.

Test of the pack – South Africa have endured a mixed battle in the early days, having won three of their five matches. They sit second with 60 percent win points. On the flip side, Sri Lanka are ranked fifth whole New Zealand sit sixth in the standings. Bangladesh and West Indies complete the top eight securing seventh and eighth spot respectively.
Dismal England – Interestingly, England remain the surprise package in the standings having won only one of their 11 matches. The current ODI World Champions have a win percentage of 13.63 as they languish at the bottom of the table.
