WTC points table after Bangladesh complete 2-0 whitewash against Pakistan

Pakistan cricket team were handed a historic series defeat as Bangladesh picked up a 6-wicket win in PAK vs BAN 2nd Test. The visitors completed a 2-0 whitewash against Shan Masood and co, denting their chances of making it to the World Test Championship final next year. However, Pakistan are very much alive in the race and still have chances of making it to the final.

Pakistan still in race for spot in WTC final

Pakistan have seven more Tests to play after the series against Bangladesh. Currently, the team is eighth on the WTC standings with 16 points from two wins in this ongoing cycle. Pakistan will take on England next in a three-Test affair starting from October 7. Following the series against England, Pakistan will have nearly a two-month gap before their next Test encounter when they travel to South Africa in the end of December for a two-Test series. It will be followed by a similar tour to West Indies in January 2025.
