WTC Final 2023, IND vs AUS: Team India is all set to battle it out with Australia in the World Test Championship Final 2023 starting from June 7. The Oval Stadium in London will play host to the much-anticipated India vs Australia summit clash.
Ahead of the WTC final, Team India has started practicing in Oval. After training on Sunday, Ravindra Jadeja and Yashaswi Jaiswal were spotted in casuals in the streets of London.
The unlikely duo was soon spotted by fans and one of them asked Jadeja to take his photo with youngster Jaiswal. And Jadeja being the humble one, took the photo of that Gujrati fan and Jaiswal together. This whole incident was captured by Vimal Kumar who uploaded the same on his YouTube.

Ravindra Jadeja or R Ashwin for WTC Final
Ironically, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, two of India’s top cricketers and all-around spinners, last played in an overseas Test XI during the 2021 World Test Championship final against New Zealand at Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18–23.
India was highly criticised for playing two spinners in the XI in the wet circumstances of that Test, which they lost by eight wickets.
In the two innings, Ashwin bowled superbly, taking 2-18 off 15 overs and 2-17 off 10 overs. While in the first innings, Jadeja had one wicket in 7.2 overs; in the second, he had no wickets in his eight overs.
How should India proceed? Choose both Jadeja and Ashwin? or choose just one to play? When healthy, Jadeja has been chosen over Ashwin for international missions, and since 2020, his performances, particularly with the bat, have supported his participation in the team.
So it’s very likely that Gujarat all-rounder will be preferred over Ashwin in the WTC Final 2023.
Oval Test Record
The final English summer game, played in warmer weather, is the Oval Test. Beginning on June 7, India will perform there.
Oval has oddly never hosted a Test in June.
Pacers have bowled 2413.3 overs in the last 10 Tests at the site, taking 252 wickets at a strike rate of 57.4, compared to 741.4 overs of spin and 65.4 balls per wicket for the 68 scalps.
