WTC Final 2023, IND vs AUS: It is advantage Australia in World Test Championship Final 2023 (WTC Final 2023) vs India. The injury-plagued Rohit Sharma-led side also has Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) lethargy to tackle with which leaves them at a disadvantageous position, according to Aussie great Ian Chappell. Former Australian cricketer was also surprised with the exclusion of Hardik Pandya from India’s WTC squad given the pacy conditions in Oval.
The prestigious World Test Championship Final (WTC Final 2023) will take place at The Oval next month, featuring two fierce rivals in India and Australia.
It should be difficult to predict the outcome of this game. This is primarily due to injury worries and the fact that neither team has played a Test match since wrapping up a challenging Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) earlier this year.
The fact that many of the players involved have just played in the IPL in preparation for the one-off Test makes things much more challenging for India.

If Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood—three members of Australia’s elegant pace trio—are available, they are marginal favourites as per Ian Chappell in his column in ESPNcricinfo.
However, an Indian pace attack led by Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav is as potent and lags the Australian trio in terms of ability to take wickets by marginally opined Aussie great.
The match’s English-style playing environment marginally helps the potent Australian pace assault.
India is negatively impacted by the injuries to Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah because with these two playing, India would be the clear favourites in the WTC Final 2023.
Chappell further added that the relatively unexpected absence of all-rounder Hardik Pandya is detrimental to India as well because he could have been the missing link in their puzzle.
Hardik Pandya hasn’t participated in a Test since the 2018 England tour. The 29-year-old has previously thought about retiring from Test because of ongoing injury issues. Pandya, however, has been more fit than ever during the last 18 months. He won the IPL 2022 with the Gujarat Titans and is in IPL 2023 playoffs currently and is also serving as the T20I captain.
